Varnish You
Schism, refresher, pinstripe, ardent
All the world screening for you
You lost the world
As the world lost you
Lozenges, rhymes, pepper, leaflet
Crossing over another labyrinth
You rinse the labyrinth
The labyrinth rinsed you
Twist and turn and churn and toss
Let me hear a second toast
It's an otherworldly garnish
You only wanted to vanish
No more, no less, none the less, never the less
Tarnish, varnish, humming bird
You recreated the cage
As the cage recreated you
Elder wood, edelweiss, elder flower
Just another book of hours
You dreamed of the book
As the book dreamed you
Twist and turn and churn and toss
Let me hear a second toast
It's an otherworldly tarnish
Only the varnish is you
